10 Amazing people you won’t believe exist!
Being a teen isn’t always easy. High school can be tough and other teens can be mean. Especially when someone’s not “normal.” It’s not always fair, but sometimes life throws a curveball and people are affected by rare diseases and conditions you can’t even imagine. To put yourself in their shoes seems almost impossible and you may not even believe some of these teens exist.
Hearing these stories is incredibly inspirational; all of these teens are so courageous. Check out Ciera Swaringen for example. A skin condition called giant congenital melanocytic nevus resulted in thousands of birthmarks covering her body. Others bullied her throughout high school, and although it put her down, she decided to embrace her moles and show them off to the world. Suffering from Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Emily James’ joints dislocate several times a day, to the point where she has to sleep with her arms in slings and legs in splints. She’s constantly in pain and even has to get her jaw wired shut since it comes detached so often.
And were you aware that you could be physically allergic to water? The condition is called aquagenic urticarial and 17-year-old Alexandra Allen is living with it. Every time her skin touches water her body breaks out into hives. And if you’ve never seen biracial twins, get ready to be amazed. Lucy and Maria Aylmer has different hair and skin colour, yet they are natural twins.
