Dancing With the Stars has a pretty simple format.
Take a group of B-list celebrities, pair them off with professional dancers, and have their various performances judged by top dancers and choreographers.
When it aired its first season on ABC in 2005, the celebs involved may not have been A-listers, but they were relatively uncontroversial.
As the show continues, however, celebrity talent seems to be in shorter supply. Now in its 30th season, DWTS’ definition of “celebrity” is most certainly a loose one, and the series doesn’t seem to be afraid to scrape the bottom of the celeb barrel for contestants.
