Only now am I able to truly talk about all the things I saw, filmed and experienced in China.
Having moved out of the country I now have the freedom to speak unreservedly and I would like to first let you all know why it is that I left China, a country that I loved in the first place.
What were some of the social and political limitations in China that influenced your decision to leave the country?
As an individual who was born and raised in China, it was not an easy decision to leave the country for good. However, after a lot of contemplation and weighing the pros and cons, I decided it was the best decision for me and my family. There were several reasons that led to my decision to leave China, including the lack of personal freedoms, the extreme pollution levels, and the highly competitive and expensive education system.
Personal Freedoms: One of the key factors that influenced my decision to leave China was the lack of personal freedoms. While China has made significant progress in terms of economic development, it still has many social and political limitations that are tough to tolerate. Freedom of speech and expression is severely restricted, and individuals who express their opinions face consequences and can be punished by the government. Additionally, the government’s control over the internet and media makes it difficult to access unbiased news and information about the world.
Pollution: Pollution levels in China have skyrocketed in the last few decades, and the quality of air and water has been severely impacted. The pollution was so bad at times that it became a health hazard and affected my family’s overall well-being. The government has taken steps to address the problem, but the measures are insufficient to tackle the problem fully.
Education System: The education system in China is highly competitive and can be quite expensive. The pressure on students to perform well in school and get into top universities is intense, and this often leads to a high-stress environment for both students and parents. Additionally, the cost of education is very high, and families often have to pay exorbitant fees to get their children a quality education.
These are just a few of the reasons that led to my decision to leave China for good. While the decision was not easy, I am confident in my choice and believe that it was the right one for me and my family. As I embark on my new journey, I hope to find a place that offers a more open society, cleaner environment, and better opportunities for education and personal growth.
